Spatial Ear Club

What is SPECk

The Spatial Ear Club (SPECk) is a monthly seminar and discussion series dedicated to spatial acoustics, spatial hearing and immersive audio. Inspired by the Ear Club established by Erv Hafter at UC Berkeley, SPECk aims to bring together researchers from different disciplines and at all career stages to regularly share and discuss their work.Crucially, research does not need to be finished before it is worth presenting.

Alongside completed studies and new findings, SPECk welcomes work in progress, research ideas, methodological challenges and planned experiments. It should be a place where researchers can present an idea or experimental design and receive constructive feedback from the community before carrying out the work.By meeting monthly, SPECk aims to complement traditional conferences with a more continuous and informal scientific conversation, encouraging exchange across disciplines and generations and helping us collectively develop better questions, better experiments and better research.

Bring your results. Bring your ideas. Bring your unfinished experiments. Bring your questions.
