The project aims to adapt and validate existing technology to integrate hearing tests within videogames and Virtual Reality(VR) applications to produce a reliable way of autonomously and remotely monitoring hearing in a highly vulnerable cohort, ensuring high usability. This work dovetails with a recent NIHR programme grant “Both EARS training package (BEARS)" to maximise hearing abilities in teenage bilateral cochlear implant users”, with clinical validation supported by a NIHR pre-doctoral academic fellowship.
